I have a deep-rooted appreciation for fauna and flora especially in larger, remote, undisturbed areas. I deem it important to understand the dynamics of a reserve.
I currently have 10 years of reserve management experience, 9 years of field-guiding experience and aside from my 3.5 years of working on farms, I grew up on a farm spending as much time as I could outdoors.
Ecology is important and each new season
brings more information with it; which assists me to make the best decision as
a manager for this reserve to ensure its biodiversity.
I look after the BNR Herbarium and assist
visitors and researchers to locate plants. I have a background in nature
conservation and have been privileged to live and work in or near nature
reserves. I enjoy seeing wild-flowers and walking. More recently, I found that
by assisting researchers, I have become more intrigued by botany in general. I get
excited by paleontology and am keen to learn more about the geology and history
of this region.
